Finding Your Rhythm

August 7, 2008 10:41 by Chris Smith

Now for those of you who think you are not musically minded, this is not what this blog is about.  Although if any so called 'experts' (usually teachers or parents) told you that you that you did not have rhythm or two left feet, be prepared to suspend that belief, because after all, it was somebody else's idea in the first place wasn't it?

The rhythm I am talking about today is a much more subtle rhythm that is marbled through our very existence.  It is a rhythm of thoughts, feelings and actions.  It is a state of 'free flow' when everything is in syn-ch.  You have had the kind of days when everything just works the way you want it to work haven't you?  I knew you had.  And if you think about what was significant about those days and times, you will no doubt remember that you were relaxed, sure of yourself and focused.

I have far more of those days now that I ever used to have.  It has taken some practise and it has been such a worthwhile investment.  Taking the time to 'listen' to your own internal rhythm is really important.  When you tap into the higher consciousness that governs everything that you do, you realise that there is something far bigger and more powerful in control.  I have a favourite expression that I first took from Catherine Ponder's "Dynamic Laws of Prosperity" and that was "let go and let God".  Now for those of you who don't do the God bit, that is OK, you can replace it with whatever feels comfortable.  For me it is a great way of just letting go of the struggle because you come to realise that you are not in charge.  There is always a way of letting divinity step in and do things for you.  Things that you cannot truly work out how to handle, just hand it over.   Find your rhythm by quietening your mind and go gently about your day, being kind to yourself and all those around you.

Chris,
Your post reminded me of this beautiful poem in Wayne Dyer's book "The Power of Intention".

Good morning,
This is God,
I will be handling
All of your
Problems today.
I will not need
Your help so have
A miraculous day.

I love the way it expresses the idea of putting your trust in a higher power and opening yourself up to whatever is in store for you. Your post gave me the same peaceful feeling - thank you.
